The Problem Poor visibility costs time & quality

In the modern automotive workshop, engine compartments, undersides and tight cavities are everyday work areas. Poor illumination leads to mistakes, injuries and longer working hours.

Ordinary household lamps or cheap inspection lights deliver too little light, can't withstand the rough workshop environment or are simply too cumbersome for professional use.

LED Lighting

Frequently asked questions

Which LED light is best suited for workshop use?

For the workshop, robust LED tripod lights with at least 3,000 lm and a wide beam angle are recommended. PICHLER offers both battery and mains-powered models specifically developed for use in automotive workshops.

What is the difference between battery and mains-powered LED lights?

Mains-powered LED lights deliver constant full brightness and are ideal for fixed workstations. Battery LED lights are mobile and perfect for use under vehicles or in hard-to-reach areas — independent of a power outlet.

How many lumens should good workshop lighting have?

For general workshop lighting, at least 2,000–3,000 lm is recommended. For precision work such as engine diagnostics or paint inspections, 5,000 lm or more should be used.

Which colour temperature (Kelvin) is suitable for automotive repairs?

A colour temperature of 5,000–6,500 Kelvin (cool white to daylight-like) is ideal for automotive workshops. These temperatures ensure good colour rendering and reduce fatigue during long working sessions.

Are the LED lights splash-proof?

Most PICHLER workshop lights are certified to IP44 or higher and are therefore splash-proof. This is important as cleaning agents and water are regularly used in the workshop.

How long does the battery last on the mobile LED tripod light?

Depending on the model and brightness level, PICHLER battery LED lights achieve runtimes of 2 to 6 hours. In eco mode with reduced brightness, the runtime can be significantly extended.
