Glow Plug Drilling Kit Mod. OM651, M8x1 M10x1

Application:

During disassembly of extremely seized glow plugs, the drive hex often breaks off. However, the center contact of the glow plug, which remains firmly connected to the glow plug body, prevents the drive hex from being removed. This tool removes the center contact in a few steps, attaches a combination holder, and drills out the glow plug fastening thread guided by the core diameter. The thread in the cylinder head is not damaged. Due to the difficult accessibility and installation position of the glow plug in the OM651 engine, drilling and extraction of the glow pin is only possible in a guided work process. This ensures, among other things, that work is performed exactly along the glow plug bore axis. The guide system specially developed for the OM651 enables precise drilling out of the glow plug and ensures process-reliable execution of all repair steps.

• Remove center electrode
• Drill out glow plug thread
• Extract glow plug
• Clean glow plug bore with brush

Should the fastening thread in the cylinder head be damaged, we offer a special repair kit for both thread sizes (M8x1 & M10x1) (Art. 60416900). In case of heavy contamination of the glow pin channel and/or sealing cone, we recommend cleaning with the specially developed reamers and bore brush set OM651 (Art. 60417310).
