When replacing glow plugs, the glow plug bore should be cleaned with a specialized tool, as otherwise accumulated carbon deposits can cause heat buildup on the new glow plug and lead to overheating. Tip: If the fastening thread needs to be renewed using a thread insert, the sealing seat should always be re-reamed and adjusted with the reamer.
